So-named because of, you know, the turtles that hatch here in the summertime, Alagadi Turtle Beach is a gorgeously secluded area some 12 miles east of Kyrenia. The bay is crescent-shaped with a small cafe and changing facilities. If you do happen to see any turtles doing their thing, leave the magnificent pizza-loving karate reptiles to it. The Society for the Protection of Turtles (SPOT) takes care of such things and has a small headquarters a couple of miles west of the beach. The centre is open from May to September for anyone interested in turtle conservation.
