The island's lavender harvest is celebrated with food, drink and a plethora of stalls selling fragrant souvenirs featuring the aromatic purple shrub. The festival kicks off in Hvar Town before moving on to the main square of Velo Grablje, the highland village at the centre of the lavender-growing region. The event also celebrates Hvar's other traditional crops of rosemary and immortelle.Â
