St Elias (Sv. Ilija) Mountain

St. Elias, the highest peak on the Pelješac peninsula, offers one of the most beautiful views of the Croatian mountains and Adriatic Sea. Legend has it that the hill on which it’s located was called Perunovo brdo (Perun’s mountain), after Perun, the Slavic god of thunder. The peak is marked by a pile of stones and a small wooden cross.
