The Ston Wall Marathon takes place in a truly distinctive setting — the historic Walls of Ston, often referred to as the “European Great Wall.” Built in the 15th century by the Republic of Ragusa as a strategic line of defence, the walls remain one of the longest preserved fortification systems in Europe. Scheduled for 20th September, the event offers several race options, including 4 km, 10 km and a half marathon (21 km), allowing participants of different fitness levels to experience the course. The routes pass along sections of the fortifications and surrounding landscape, combining challenging terrain with views of the Adriatic coast and the historic salt pans.
