The Britzer Garten is one of the largest in Berlin, and how to a dizzying array of activities. Besides the many themed gardens there is a miniature railway, an amusement park, playgrounds, climbing pyramids, crazy golf and even an animal enclosure and petting zoo. At the heart of the park is the Hauptsee, a 10-hectare lake. There are loads of food and drink options, and it's a genuinely fun Berlin day out for all the family, usually free of crowds. To get to the main entrance of the park, take bus 181 from U-bahn station Alt-Mariendorf, or it's a 15 minute walk.
