Bosnia and Herzegovina is full of places that could be considered ‘undiscovered’, at least in the sense of mass tourism, and most of them are accompanied by a feeling of disbelief at that relative obscurity. Rakitnica Canyon is yet another on the list, a thrilling canyon that covers everything from adrenaline-fuelled highs and the glimmering serenity of glacial waters, with all the bows of the high octane string available to those looking to spike a heart rate. Exhilaration and beauty are a combination that is difficult to match, let alone beat, and it reaches a peak in Rakitnica. Most of it is inaccessible too, which makes it all the more exciting. It lies 30km east of Konjic.
