Mostar, not unlike many other cities in the country, creates something of a curious contradiction as a result of its authenticity-obsessed tourist offer in the centre. Many restaurants in the Old Town offer traditional local food, but the manufactured-nature of the setting adds a sheen to it all that is difficult to shake at times. As a result, many of the best traditional Bosnian restaurants in Mostar are found outside the Old Town, and M&M is a great example of this. A short walk from Hotel Bristol, the dishes on offer focus firmly on what brought people up here in the past, and the abundance of locals at the tables is evidence enough for its quality.
