The Mountain of the Cross is the highest area, so it stands to reason that we find a large cross waiting for us at the top. The cross was actually erected in 1934, bringing to an end years of bad harvests and even worse luck, turning around the fortunes of Međugorje, for a while at least. The mountain is 520m high, another important part of any complete pilgrimage to Međugorje, a hike that can take anywhere between one and two hours.
