If you went back to the medieval period and told the locals that their fortress would eventually be a prime spot for summer rock festivals, they’d understandably be considerably confused. Kastel is no ordinary fortress though, and its wide expanses are perfect for summertime strolling or the aforementioned barrage of riffs and racket. Kastel doesn’t really have the tangible history of many regional fortresses, but its riverside location makes it an excellent stop nonetheless.
