Roman Baths

Smack-bang in the centre of the city we find the reason this place is named as it is. The Roman Baths are responsible for almost all that you see here, the magic around which the city developed and now the most popular tourist attraction in the city. The only hot springs in the entire United Kingdom, these baths are open for the public to explore and engage with, but don’t even think about getting in the water — is is strictly against the rules. The baths are found below street level and are part of a four-featured complex telling the story of these remarkable spots, lifting the lid on their history and importance. The baths have seen plenty of redevelopment over the years but have always retained their original look, although the statues are a fairly recent addition. An absolutely essential attraction in the city, to say the least.
