Tamborine Mountain Visitor Information Centre

Everything you could want in a visitor information centre and then some, the VIC not only has a wealth of informative maps, guides, brochures, event calendars and other useful material on hand, but more importantly it's run by locals who know the area better than anyone and are sincerely keen to answer any questions you might have, make recommendations for dining, sightseeing, activities and more, explain random things and generally make sure that you feel at home and enjoy your time on the mountain. In addition to the free material, there's a selection of gifts, souvenirs and books available for purchase, as well as few small exhibitions of the local flora and fauna, and a large, scale-size 3D topographical map that gives you a better idea of just how large the Scenic Rim is.
