If you’re the sort who gets all a flutter at all things Yugoslavia, you owe it to yourself to organise a visit to this place. Found just a short drive outside of Konjic, Tito’s Bunker (RK D-0 Armijska Ratna Komanda, to be exact) is one of the great YugoStalgia attractions, a nuclear bunker designed to keep Tito safe in the event of armageddon. This underground complex is vast and then some, a labyrinth of tunnels and secret rooms covering everything from communications to energy, offering hundreds of people everything they could need to survive underground. Well, survive for six months or so, but who’s counting. To visit, get in touch with the tourist office in Konjic and organise an excellent tour, with super knowledgeable guides and all the rest. The bunker is also home to a mass of art, the result of exhibitions gone by.
