The grand wooden Toptani family house is one of the few traditional Ottoman houses belonging to feudal lords (serai) to survive in Tirana. Built between 1833-1840, it is still looking rather lovely and features a small hamamxhik bath and carved wooden ceilings. Closed for now, plans are to renovate it for use as Tirana's ethnographic museum, but until then, you'll have to peek at the quaint exterior from over the fence.
