Once one of very few affordable options in the city, Freddy's is a marvellous family-run venture on a pleasantly quiet street that's still among the best budget places to stay considering they almost give the rooms away for free. The rooms are basic to say the least, but there’s en suite bathrooms and Freddy himself, the amiable, English-speaking owner who’s often on hand to give advice on anything you require. The price includes a small breakfast.

I stayed at Freddy&#039;s last week and it was fantastic. He is a great host and the rooms are really good. More like a hotel than a hostel really. But at a good price.
