The meadow Chinawiese (official name Blatterwiese) next the Chinagarten is popular for sunbathing and for beach sports like badminton too - even though there is no actual beach. The shore is stony, so it's not perfect for swimming though it's possible. But it is a great place for a picnic. There's an electric grill (works until 23:00) for free use - just bring your own meat or vegetables (there is a Coop grocery store at Stadelhofen station open late, seven days a week). For kids there is a huge playground. If you prefer eating out than being the chef yourself, the restaurants Fischstube and Lake Side are close by.
