Beneath the monumental City Hall you'll find the gothic Raadskelder (cellar tavern) built in 1529. This most picturesque location has a rich history illustrated by its many vaults, arches and columns. Since 1929 its two halls have been open to the public. Many international celebrities have visited this ancient establishment including Napoleon, an Austrian Emperor and various Spanish and Dutch kings to name a few.
