In a remote corner of the giant former Groot Zieken Gasthuis (a huge hospital), you'll now find the charming Mariapaviljoen. Where the ill were once treated for a variety of maladies, you can now enjoy sandwiches, coffee and homemade soups inside or on the attached terrace. The new owners have left the industrial setting as it was and have even added heaps of medical instruments to complete the 'hospital look'. An art-house movie is projected on the serene white walls every last Wednesday of the month.
