A traditional café founded in 1923, and seemingly unchanged ever since, De Wolthoorn is extremely atmospheric with its brown walls, well-dressed barmen and elderly clientele. Old photographs, paintings and lovely stained-glass windows set the atmosphere. Often named the best café in the Netherlands, this may be the best place anywhere to order a few shots of oude jenever gin and have a go at billiards. Just don't touch the regulars' cues, locked up in special cupboards on the wall.
