Simple country life was reviled in Dutch culture for many years. But this trend has changed and now city dwellers in particular embrace the country en masse. Vroeg is an excellent example. This authentic white farmhouse with original small rooms offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. Dishes include Texel lamb, Dutch crab and homemade fries. Although they're not likely to be nominated for a Michelin Star any time soon, the cuisine tastes great. Anyone who claims that rustic Dutch cooking has little to offer has probably never been to Vroeg.
