The Grocer's Museum is hidden in a beautiful, historic courtyard. The word museum might be a bit of an exaggeration, but the small size of this romantic building is also its strength. Walk up the winding staircase to a tiny space where you'll find a multitude of grocery items on display from decades past like soap and cigar boxes, old advertising posters, biscuit tins and an old cash register. Downstairs you'll find sweets that can hardly be found anywhere in Holland these days such as polkabrokken, motto-caramels, bruidsuiker, and various types of licorice. Farmer’s mustard and apple spread are also on sale. Even the service is like it was in those sadly bygone years when the staff always offered a smile and some chit-chat.
