The area surrounding this pub, which dates back to 1905, used to be a poor neighbourhood populated by immigrants, but recently it has begun a transformation into a lively yuppie colony. In the distant past, however, this was the domain of local sailors who used to offload their goods at the factory just opposite the pub. But the friendly landlord of this English-style watering hole certainly won’t mind the extra business. We suggest you try a locally brewed organic beer here, e.g. the Willibord or Witte Vrouwen. This pleasantly furnished place boasts a great number of authentic decorations and architectural details including an Art Nouveau rooftop terrace, which is a real eye-catcher.
