Although located right in the centre of town, this eatery is hidden behind an old facade. Not unlike other start-up catering establishments, Smaak has had some problems of its own, but thankfully it seems that most of the growing pains have been solved. Most importantly, the waiters and waitresses were given a boot to the backside and now know what they're doing. Add to this mix a sober but affordable menu, large portions and a 'think outside the box' chef and you have a recipe for a good meal. If only the interior were a bit more attractive, the experience would score high marks.
