Il Barile da Mario

If you appreciate authentic Italian food, Il Barile da Mario is by far the best classic Italian restaurant on the island. Although we could focus on the less positive aspects of this charming place like its small size, the tiny round tables and the overcrowded interior, we prefer to dwell on the positive. Owner and chef Mario and his wife Maria (yes, Mario and Maria!) know how to cook traditional Italian food like the kind you'd find at small family restaurants in the back alleys of Rome and Naples. If you like seafood then the pasta frutti di mare is the only option, but save some room for an excellent cappuccino and a delicious tiramisu. We should warn you not to bother Mario when his favourite Italian football team is playing on TV.
