Although this simple eatery isn't as cheap as it once was in the gold old days, long-time favourite Pop’s Place is still a great venue to feast on local cuisine and fresh fish. We whole-heartedly recommend the Mondingo soup, also known as Curacao soup, the catch of the day or whatever fresh seafood is available. You can expect an excellent panorama of picturesque Caracasbaai and thankfully the unsightly ‘stranded’ oil-platform is just out of view, so there are certainly worse places to finish another day in paradise. Bear in mind that this family-run restaurant is packed with locals at the weekend, so if you’re looking for a quiet, romantic dinner, you should probably drop by during the work week.
