Unless you’d like to say a prayer for the marketing industry, there's no reason to bring a rosary. The charismatic Vondelkerk was abandoned by the local parish in the late 1970s and after a period of neglect the city government decided to restore the building and rent the property to several PR companies. Since its restoration, the central nave of the church can be hired for civil marriage ceremonies or business conferences. Office employees might let you in for a quick look when the nave isn’t being used, but the exterior of the building is worth a visit anyway. The 19th-century neo-Gothic church was designed by renowned architect Pierre Cuypers, whose works include Amsterdam’s Central Station and the Rijksmuseum.
