Haarlem promotes itself as the most welcoming city in Holland and if the staff at the information centre are typical of the city's residents, then we'd have to agree. Pick up loads of brochures, a free map, suggestions for walking routes and plenty of souvenirs. The tourist office is located in a small glass building in the middle of the road. Just look for the VVV signs.
