De Polder

It seems a bit odd to build a hangar-like structure in the middle of an open grass field and turn it into a restaurant, but this is precisely what De Polder did. As the restaurant is located at the University of Amsterdam’s Science Park the clientele mainly consists of students and academics who are not above discussing the latest news in quantum mechanics at the table. The food is generally great value for money and the drinks menu lists some good special beers worth sampling. De Polder’s Angus burger is particularly good and on a warm day the outside seating on the grass is very tempting.
