This classic brown bar has been around since the 1940s and only the pop music, gambling machines and colour photos on one wall betray its 21st century existence. The tables are covered in tatty carpets in keeping with Dutch tradition, stained glass graces its façade and wood is everywhere from the floor to the walls and the furniture. Only Heineken is available, but you can also amuse yourself with a game of pool and smoke to your lungs’ content.
