According to the young staff the translation of the not so common name of this place would be ‘open your mouth and stick out your tongue’. This no doubt sounds a bit weird if you’re a foreigner, but it’s the old fashioned Dutch sign for a pharmacy that was once housed here. A diverse clientele of neighbourhood types, market visitors, students and tourists eat and drink here partly due to the cheap lunch specials of simple Dutch food. Every Saturday night the place is partly booked for couch surfing meetings, so if you’re looking for a sofa or want to meet people then look no further.
