Anyone whose spent enough time in the Netherlands will easily recognise the interior here, which is so typical of pubs in the greater Amsterdam region. You'll see high bar stools, gambling machines and a standard brown hue everywhere, but locals will point out that the paintings on the wall featuring people in traditional clothing can only be found in Volendam. Café Centraal is a friendly, cosy local pub in the centre of town with an outside terrace that offers a view of the harbour. The menu is nothing special, but it can't be denied that €10 for fish and chips and a beer is a pretty good deal. If you're curious about the disco lights, local singers take to the stage every last Sunday of the month.
