Bir Bey means gentleman in Turkish, which pretty much sums up the clientele that this Turkish restaurant seems to attract. You'll find lots of people in suits here and this isn't really surprising given its location in a business park at the far western edge of Amsterdam. The restaurant is certainly stylish enough to be a gentlemen’s hangout as it's majestically designed and filled with paintings displaying sultans and scenes of Ottoman life. Although a bit slow at times, the service is generally professional and attentive. Dutch classics can be had but we obviously recommend the Turkish meals, which are delicious and well presented. All of this grandeur and opulence will cost you, so try to have the boss pay for lunch.
