Tired of being told what to eat? At Basis Amsterdam, a small, cosy but well-lit bar on a corner of the Vijzelstraat, you can bring your own food, or even order in pizza. The two friendly owners of the place provide cheap drinks and DJs, but also forks and knives, microwaves and ovens and even a phone for deliveries. Although it has the potential to be a new hotspot for exhibitions as well as after-work drinks, Basis isn't there – yet. If you love art, you never get bored here. Every two weeks a new exhibition starts.
