City Museum of Cabras (Museo Civico di Cabras Giovanni Marongiu)

This museum made cultural headlines in 2014 when six of the so-called ‘Giants of Mont’e Prama’ and four models of nuraghe were re-homed here. These massive stone sculptures, dating from the 10th to 8th centuries BC are one of the most eloquent expressions of Nuragic civilisation. The statues, currently at Cagliari’s National Archaeological Museum, will soon be displayed in a purpose-built wing that is currently under construction along with the others. The entire exhibition itinerary, focusing on the Sinis Peninsula, is rich in artefacts and multimedia content.
