Aragonese House (Casa Aragonese)

Considering the various influences on the house, built between the 16th and 17th century, at the same time as the traditional homes typical of the plain between Oristano and Cagliari reveals both Aragonese and Campidanian influences. While the local influence is recognisable in the disposition of space which is organised around a vegetable patch- garden, the Catalan influence is instead evident in the elegant pink trachyte portals framed by columns with headed capitals and in the columns placed around the portico which opens up on the front of the building, rather than on the inner garden in accordance with Campidanian tradition. The building is now used to house temporary exhibitions.
