Casa di Dante

Blink and you just might miss it, but if you're a lover of world literature you really shouldn't! Dante Alighieri's alleged dwelling lies hidden among the narrow and winding streets of one of the oldest districts of Florence. This small palazzo, rebuilt at the beginning of the 20th century, stands directly opposite the church where Dante first saw his beloved Beatrice. The museum spans three floors, the first two chronicling Dante's life and life in medieval Florence, while the top floor is dedicated to his masterwork, the Divine Comedy.
