The Vasile Alecsandri National Theatre (Teatrul National Vasile Alecsandri) was built by two Viennese architects, Feller and Helmer, and is one of the most elegant buildings in Romania, with an impressive 1000 seat auditorium and excellent acoustics. It is named after Romanian poet, politician and diplomat Vasile Alecsandri, who is also a former manager of the theatre.
