Mozaika takes up two floors of an old building in Perovskaya, known for its noisy bar culture. It’s quite an exceptional place for the neighbourhood though. From the street you take stairs to a pleasant first-level area for non-smokers, then another flight of stairs for a smoking attic with lower tables and a more laid-back setting. The place feels very homey and people mostly come here in groups. The selection of drinks is wide, the crowd very artsy. The interior – hard to even see when the place is busy – is inspired by the Soviet obsession with monumental mosaic art. You might also want to ask the bartenders for a look at the postcard collection, illustrating the mosaics of Soviet Georgia. Tasty snacks such as sandwiches and pasta available as well.
