All bridges in the centre of Tbilisi are fairly new, the oldest is Metekhi Bridge which stands on the place where first wooden bridge across the Mtkvari in Tbilisi was build in 1821. Later replaced by a metal one in 1870. The present bridge built in the 1950s.
