Originally an Orthodox Church dedicated to St.George it was handed over to the Armenian diocese mid-18th Century and eventually played a significant role within the Armenian community following the genocide in Turkey at the beginning of the 20th century. In the crypt below the church you can view many unique and precious objects that were brought to Bulgaria at that time by the fleeing refugees.
