If you enjoy caves and the spectacular creations you can find within, this one certainly won't disappoint. From Dryanovo Monastery the entrance to Bacho Kiro cave is no more than a gentle 20 minute climb. Visitors can choose between the short and long tour, whereby the shorter route is your better bet if you just want to get an idea of the cave as you can view this part of the cave on your own, without a guide. Be sure to wear good walking shoes as it can be quite slippery inside and it may be worth carrying your own torch. Also remember that the temperatures inside the caves are usually considerably cooler especially during the summer months.
Bacho Kiro cave was first opened to visitors in 1938 but finds indicate that the caves were inhabited as far back as the Middle Paleolithic age (around 70,000 years ago).
