The official tourist information office is right behind the National History Museum. There's friendly and knowledgeable staff at hand to answer question and give tips, as well as books to browse through and city maps to take away.

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Dear Sir/Madame,
I am writing this to commend on the absolutely wonderful attitude and the excellent service of the gentleman of the Tourist Information Centre in your lovely city - Tirana. The gentleman understood my very limited knowledge of the city and the language, and in order to make sure I was going to get to the right destination, took me there himself. (from the office to Café Flora). While we were walking he gave me a short but unforgettable tutorial about contemporary Albania, her culture, her people and her challenges. He denied sternly my offer for a tip or a coffee or something for the service he provided to me. "It's my duty" he said. That was on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 early in the morning! My dear friend, all I can do to thank you is to publicly acknowledge your willingness and to promise that next time I am in Albania I will certainly come and say hello! Apart from the worthy officer I just mentioned there were numerous people who assisted me while in various parts of your hospitable country. I have you all in my heart and I wish you all the best.
I look forward to seeing you all, in the near future. With respect, friendship and gratitude.
