The decor is designed for the Instagram generation and if you look online you'll find endless selfies of gorgeous people many of them with chopsticks artfully holding up their hair snapped with a backdrop of Saigon Suzy's namesake's mural. The ceiling is decorated with pretty parasols and posters and neon signs complete the mood.
The stairs leading to the karaoke rooms are ingeniously decorated by the back-lit lyrics of 80s sensation Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up". But of course any self-respecting karaoke fan doesn't need to be told that Astley's song was a number 1 hit single in 25 countries and has inspired fabulously lousy singers from Tokyo to Joburg's Chinatown.
The back of the restaurant leads out to the Cherry Blossom garden where you can enjoy a meal on the terrace.
The food is Asian fusion with plenty of tasty choices ranging from small plates to baos (vegetarians will delight in tasting the steamed bun with pumpkin tempura, honey, chili and lime). The menu comes with checkboxes so you get to complete your own order. The Wok n' Roll big plate marvels allow you to mix and match ingredients in four steps. These include a noodle base, a tasty fish, chicken, meat or tofu addition, plenty of toppings and a range of sauces, among them some extra fiery versions such as the red hot dragon. There's also ramen bowls, salads and a superb thai red curry of beef short rib. Sweets are sweet and there are plenty of cocktails on the menu to get the party started early - the China Girl with vanilla vodka and plum liquer will help you loosen your vocal chords.
Sing loud, sing proud. The walls of the karaoke rooms are well-padded and just in case you get any naughty ideas, they are also monitored by CCTV cameras.
